New Life Upholstery was one of my first clients and they recently needed to upgrade an old design from HTML to a full robust WordPress website to better maintain security and for their mobile visitors.
RICE Kitchen needed a comprehensive form to collect Catering orders from their website.
The International Study Tours site launched a year ago with an enhanced landing page plus registration. In the last year, after the success from the Study Tour featured on the website, founder Angela Ferrario has expanded to include three new Study Tours for 2019 and a full website with 3 enhanced landing pages featuring photography.

Here’s what exciting web design projects and startups I’ve been working on this hot summer in addition to celebrating a milestone birthday…
The Wonder of Learning Boston exhibit is coming to Boston University/Wheelock College this summer and I’m so proud to have worked on the website design and maintenance for the past year, since it’s inception. With doors opening in a few weeks, it was time to do a site refresh.
Social media behemoth Twitter surprised users when they introduced circular user photos, but this signaled the start of a trend. Web design has always been rather “boxy”, focusing on lines, hard edges, polygons, and rectangles– or at least, this was the case until 2017. The preference for fluid shapes and circles is already beginning to develop, so expect to see this continue through the new year as website design trends towards being pleasant to look at, smooth, and flowing freely.
A responsive comprehensive landing page that branches out to individual sub-pages, directions or online ordering where appropriate for their growing and successful business.
FilingMate of Boston, MA project is a brand-new startup on WordPress. All elements of the website except the logo were part of the brand consultation. It’s a clean and fast design with a high SEO and performance score, that doesn’t waste the visitor’s time.
Curious about what a streamlined Web Design process from start to finish looks like? Watch the video above and visit my Web Design Project Board on Trello. Web Design doesn’t have to be complicated and this is my best effort to make it easy for everyone.
Melinda & Frank also signed up for a Maintenance plan to keep their investment up-to-date, safe, and secure.
Big impact doesn’t have to mean big budget when it comes to the web. It’s all about being relevant, consistent and accessible online. Keep these three things in mind and you’ll be well on the way to succeeding in using the web to create a slick, professional online home for your business.
‘m happy to announce today marks the 5th redesign of https://www.danielleshaw.com I’ve had since WordPress was released in 2003. The last two designs have featured a red accent, and this time I changed it up to go with bold colors including a cheerful blue, yellow, some red and dark gray.
The Wonder of Learning Boston, 2018 exhibit’s WordPress web design is in full swing. Here’s a sneak peak at the landing page. Be sure to give them a follow too, especially if you’re a 0-5 year early childhood educator in New England. This exciting exhibit will be at UMass Boston June – Nov 2018.

Good news for all of my WordPress web design clients who use my hosting services. As of this weekend, ALL of my WordPress sites will have a SSL certificate and run HTTPS exclusively. HTTPS enables both the best performance the web offers and powerful new features that are too sensitive for HTTP. A bit of history: In January, Google began their quest to improve how Chrome communicates the connection security of HTTP pages. Chrome now marks HTTP pages as “Not secure” if they have password or credit card fields. Beginning in October 2017, Chrome will show the “Not secure” warning in two...

Website navigation usability is the most crucial element in design. It makes the difference between a website where users find what they are looking for and one which causes so much frustration that users want to abandon it. The whole point of designing a website is to allow access the content, so the success of the design depends entirely on the quality of navigation user experience. It has the same as the navigation of a ship out at sea, which can mean life or death to the sailors on board. A website that provides a poor navigation loses conversions and can kill the business. Unlike...
