In the summer of 2020, Literacy Partners decided they needed a new website, brand and vibe for the new decade. They also needed maintenance. They came to us to put it all together and take care of it all. We were presented with a new style guide, a logo, and excellent copy. In addition to their fantastic photo shoot and all the new brand features, in two months, we were able to create a lively and modern site that showcases Literacy Partners on the web.
A partnership was born.Â
We continued to maintain the LP site through the pandemic, modifying content as needed. After COVID, due to changes in the industry and their company, more changes were needed and their site went through another refresh. In 2024, their second complete redesign with kaleidaweb was live.
Their site was built on WordPress using a custom Divi theme by Elegant Themes. We revamped with Event Calendar software that hooks into the powerful Eventbrite booking system. The site is connected to Drip CRM to build personalized marketing experiences, drive meaningful engagement, and earn long-term customer loyalty. There’s a newsletter signup at the bottom of each page that’s triggered after 20 seconds and hidden to current subscribers.Â

How we got here.
Let us walk you through our time working with Literacy Partners.
Summer 2020
Connection made.
Dahlia said hello!
Literacy Partners desperately needed a complete refresh of their brand and website. They also needed reliable maintenance to care for their site.Â
Through a client referral they heard about our services and Dani's work. After a quick call to go over it all, Dahlia chose us for the task of developing their site for the web. We joined the team! This was the beginning of a cherished, long-term partnership.Â
Later Fall 2020
Web Development process.
Details about the redesign...
Their old site was not responsive and didn't look great on most devices and had content that was outdated so we started from scratch on WordPress. Previously they were using an eCommerce store for events. We revamped with Event Calendar software that hooks into the powerful Eventbrite booking system. This allows the team to collect different types of registrations online and use their system at the door for events. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they changed up and went virtual and this was when we bridged the site with Kajabi's online course system, removing all in-person events. The site was designed for flexibility, and we were able to save the booking system for later use while quickly implementing a new system.
The LP site is connected to Drip CRM for data and marketing automation to build personalized marketing experiences, drive meaningful engagement, and earn long-term customer loyalty. There's a newsletter signup at the bottom of each page that's triggered after a while and hidden to current subscribers.
Literacy Partners is big into newsletters and blogging and I created a blog that has next/previous links at the bottom to encourage continued reading throughout the site. It also has social media sharing enabled on each post.
Winter 2020
Coding vibrant sections.
Working on design elements
Winter 2020
Organized team feedback.
Easy project management with Asana
We used Asana to communicate with the Literacy Partners team working on the site. Content and project boards allowed us to quickly send info and graphics, check the timeline, and give feedback to the kaleidaweb team.
February 2021
Helpful custom videos sent.
Post-launch client instructions
Once a client site launches, we make a few instructional videos for the team to use to edit their page content if desired. Literacy Partners are on the Essential Maintenance plan, so they have 2 free hours of maintenance work a month, they don't need to make any edits, but if they want to make a quick change, here's how. This video explains how to add a blog post, perform simple updates to their pages, and import content from EventBrite to their Event Calendar.
Divi theme also has help videos built into their theme builder so there's always an official help video wherever they're at editing.
2021 - 2023
Regular site care + mainenance.
Smooth sailing...
The Litearcy Partners team blogged, utilized social media, and called on the kaleidaweb team for routine small updates for their site including their blogs, minor updates, calendar items and more.
Late Summer 2023
A refresh is needed.
More changes to come
From LP Founder Dahlia: "Last year, we embarked on the task of updating our website post-pandemic. With all of the pivots and changes endured over the last three years, our website had initially been updated to make it easier for all folks to navigate and find the resources they needed during those challenging years. As we have emerged from that difficult time, a refresh was once again needed."
October 2023
Web Development begins, again.
Details about the redesign...
This was a total WordPress redesign. The team was pulled together by JR and The Lead Craft team with the LP team for the original desktop designed by Lori Ashcraft.
These designs were custom coded and adapted for the web by Dani Shaw of kaleidaweb design + maintenance using WordPress and Divi Theme to power the design and bring the site alive. Mobile and tablet themes were designed as close to the branding as possible, responsively growing/shrinking to the device needs.
